网易科技讯 12月20日消息，据美国科技媒体The Information报道，为了摆脱谷歌等其它科技巨头的束缚，Facebook正在开发自己的操作系统(OS)。Facebook高管菲克斯·柯尔克帕特里克(Ficus Kirkpatrick)称，未来，Facebook的硬件产品，如VR头盔Oculus和智能音箱Portal等设备，可以在该操作系统上运行。

According to the information, Facebook is developing its own operating system (OS) to get rid of the shackles of Google and other technology giants. In the future, Facebook's hardware products, such as VR helmet oculus and smart speaker portal, can run on the operating system, according to Ficus Kirkpatrick, a Facebook executive.

Facebook的操作系统从零开始构建，微软的前工程师、WindowsNT的 高架构师马克·卢科夫斯基(MarkLucovsky)领导着这个项目。Facebook没有透露操作系统什么时候发布，首先用于哪个产品。

这并不是Facebook 次考虑开发自己的操作系统。几年之前，Facebook曾经为其Home使用界面开发了一个定制操作系统的原型，但 终决定该软件仍使用Android操作系统。

Facebook开发操作系统是公司在软件上自给自足的更大努力的一部分。Facebook强化和虚拟现实业务负责人安德鲁博斯沃思(AndrewBosworth)说:我们必须确保下一代有我们的位置。为此，我们不认为我们可以信任市场或竞争对手。所以，我们必须自己做一些事情。

Facebook还在开发自己的脑机界面。Facebook的一名工程师透露称，Facebook已经将脑机界面的硬件从冰箱大小缩小为一款可以放在手上的设备。可能还需要5至10年的时间，这项技术才会出现在消费产品上。与此同时，Facebook可能会开发出这项技术的一种变体，可以像臂章一样戴在胳膊上，用户需要学习与大脑信号互动的特定动作，类似于脑机初创公司CTRL-labs开发的技术，该公司于去年9月被Facebook收购。

Facebook is also developing voice assistants like apple Siri and Amazon Alexa. In order to train its voice assistant, Facebook even approached Microsoft for data authorization from Bing, a person familiar with the matter said. Most of the work will be done at Facebook's new 770000 square foot campus in Burlingame, California. Facebook will develop these and other products here, such as augmented reality (AR) glasses.
